WHAT’S NEW
We have released the JFS Standard (Food Service, Multi-Site) Ver. 2.0 and Guidelines Edition 1.0.
On August 17, 2026, the Food Safety Management Association, a general incorporated foundation, published the "JFS Standard (Food Service--Multi-Site) [Requirements for Organizations] Ver. 2.0" and the "JFS Standard (Food Service--Multi-Site) Ver. 2.0 Guidelines Edition 1.0."
In this revision, the requirements were reviewed to ensure consistency with the Codex "General Principles of Food Hygiene (CXC 1-1969)," relevant laws and regulations, and other JFS Standards, while also providing more effective support for food service operators with multiple locations in establishing food safety management systems.
■Background of the Revision
Since the publication of the JFS Standard (Food Service, Multi-Site) Ver. 1.0, revisions and new developments have been made to international guidelines on food safety, domestic laws and regulations, and JFS standards.
In this revision to Ver. 2.0, the consistency of the entire standard has been ensured by incorporating the following changes:
・The 2022 revision of the Codex General Principles of Food Hygiene (CXC-1-1969)
・Enactment of amendments to the Food Sanitation Act
・Revisions to the JFS-C Standard to Versions 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2
・Revision of the JFS-A/B Standard to Version 3.0
・Introduction of the new JFS-B Plus Standard
・Revision of the JFS Standard (Food Service) to Version 2.0
In conjunction with this revision, we have also released Guidelines Edition 1.0 to support the understanding and implementation of the JFS Standard (Food Service, Multi-Site) Ver. 2.0.
This standard is primarily intended for food service operators with multiple locations. Utilizing this standard is expected to facilitate the establishment of a more effective food safety management system for multi-location operations.
■ Transition from Ver. 1.0 to Ver. 2.0
Organizations currently using the JFS Standard (Food Service--Multi-Site) Ver. 1.0 must transition to Ver. 2.0 by the end of December 2027.
