WHAT’S NEW

We held the "World Food Safety Day 2026" event.

ACTIVITY & OTHER

To commemorate "World Food Safety Day" (established by the UN for June 7), JFSM hosted the "World Food Safety Day 2026" event on Friday, June 5, 2026. This marked the fifth time the event has been held.

This year's theme was "From burden to solutions - safe food everywhere." Lectures and talk sessions addressed challenges and solutions regarding food safety from the perspectives of food manufacturing, distribution and retail, and consumers.

The event attracted significant interest, drawing a total of 373 participants--both in-person and online--with the in-person venue reaching full capacity. The online stream featured a multilingual subtitle function.

● "I gained a renewed appreciation for the importance of fostering a food safety culture and conducting employee training."

● "It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the gap in perception between consumers and business operators."

● "The insights into Seven-Eleven Japan's hygiene management and digitalization initiatives were extremely useful."
