JFSM Signs MOU with Busan Industry-University Convergence Agency (BIUCA) on Exchange and Cooperation in the Food Industry Sector
Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on exchange and cooperation in the food industry sector with Busan Industry-University Convergence Agency (BIUCA), an industry-academia-government collaboration organization based in Busan Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea, on May 21, 2026.
BIUCA is an organization established through collaboration among the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea (MOTIE), the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), Busan Metropolitan City, and universities, with the aim of promoting industry-university convergence.
Through activities such as supporting technology development based on industry needs, fostering industrial talent, and promoting joint industry-academia projects, BIUCA contributes to enhancing the sophistication and competitiveness of regional industries.
Under this MOU, JFSM and BIUCA confirmed their intention to cooperate in a wide range of areas, including collaboration in food safety management, technical exchange in food manufacturing and distribution, human resource development, and expert exchange programs.
Through sharing knowledge and expertise related to food safety management and supporting the implementation of the JFS Standards, JFSM will continue to contribute to improving food safety management practices. In cooperation with domestic and international partners, JFSM will also promote the development of food safety professionals and international collaboration, while supporting the sustainable growth of the food industry.
